A JOURNEY THROUGH THE STORY OF THE ITALIAN HAT
Borsalino’s long history coincides with that of a company of dream makers. It all begins with Giuseppe Borsalino who, on April 4, 1857, started a small hat factory in Alessandria that was destined to win over the world. Since its beginnings, Borsalino Giuseppe and Fratello has been distinguished by its choice to produce hats of the highest quality and its ability to look beyond the borders of its territory: an Italy that does not yet formally exist.
Giuseppe Borsalino’s ideals inspired his son Teresio, who transformed the hat factory into a modern manufacturing group open to the most innovative languages of communication: advertising and, above all, cinema.
Men’s felt hats are the starting point of the company’s research. The fabric, straw models and women’s collections are the result of a natural evolution and have been added to over time, until they complete the idea of the Borsalino style: a precise way of being elegant and standing out.
Discover along the Museum’s tour the exciting stories of the world’s most famous hats.
